Habitat Now Accepting Applications for New Homes

Henderson County Habitat for Humanity is actively seeking families to build and occupy new homes in Henderson County.  Our current community is Shuey Knolls located on U.S. 64 East in Edneyville across from the Edneyville General Store.

The applicant must have four years of work and credit history and have lived in Henderson County for at least one year.  To qualify for Habitat Housing, a family must live in substandard or inadequate housing and have a stable income of between 30% and 60 % of the Henderson County median income ( i. e. $15,750 to $31,500 for a family of four).

A family must be willing to invest a minimum of 400 hours of sweat equity in helping us build your home.  A home is sold by Habitat to the family at no profit and financed with a no-interest loan from Habitat.

Habitat builds three and four bedroom homes with two full baths.  Ten homes are planned for 2010.  Partner families are selected on the basis of need
